The Guaranteed Rural Housing Loan Program is available for properties in almost every area of the country outside major metropolitan areas. A USDA loan provides low-cost insured home mortgage loans to anyone who qualifies. Eligibility standards to determine qualifications range from what county and zip code the home resides in, to current income, credit history and number of dependents.
Geographic and credit restrictions apply. The USDA Guaranteed Rural Housing Program does not have a minimum FICO score requirement, however, it is not a subprime program and all applicants must meet the criteria outlined in 3355 of the Rural Development Instruction Manual.
